Behind the Veil of Disclosure: A Candid Week with Dr. Steven Greer’s Deep Disclosure Event

Following an eventful year in UFO research marked by disclosures from lawmakers and whistleblowers, the outlook for 2024 remains a mystery. Intrigued, I decided to begin this year by participating in a week-long webinar led by Dr. Steven Greer, a notably polarizing figure in the UFO community.

To provide context for my insights, here’s a bit about me: Like many, my fascination with UFOs started in childhood. Now 31, I’ve spent the last six years as a writer for a Balkan media company. This role led to the creation of NoManZone.com in 2023, a platform dedicated to exploring various dimensions of UFO phenomena. I consider myself well-informed on the subject, particularly on developments post-2018. With that in mind, this webinar with Dr. Greer was supposed to bring a lot of new developments and further disclosure which I would be able to share with my readers.

Understanding Dr. Steven Greer: Innovator and Controversial Figure

Dr. Steven Greer, a steadfast presence in the UFO community since the 1990s, is best known for initiating the Disclosure Project. His efforts continued with several influential documentaries. “Sirius” (2013) explores alternative energy and features a mysterious humanoid figure. “Unacknowledged” (2017) delves into alleged government cover-ups of UFOs. His latest, “Close Encounters of the Fifth Kind: Contact Has Begun” (2020), introduces the concept of human-initiated extraterrestrial contact. Controversies and Critiques

Despite his contributions, Greer is a polarizing figure. His penchant for discussing conspiracy theories and making bold claims without substantial proof has drawn skepticism. For example, his interaction claims with high-ranking officials, like the alleged briefing of CIA director James Woolsey about UFOs, which Woolsey disputes. The “Sirius” documentary, particularly its focus on the Atacama skeleton – initially claimed as extraterrestrial but later proven human – further fueled debates about Greer’s methods.

His film “Close Encounters of the Fifth Kind” faced mixed reviews, with critics like Owen Gleiberman of Variety calling it “fantasy propaganda,” and John Defore of The Hollywood Reporter noting its lack of clear photographic UFO evidence, despite decades of Greer’s claims.

Diverging Opinions within Ufology

The UFO research community is split on Greer’s contributions. Some embrace his ideas, while others are critical, citing the reasons mentioned above. Greer himself is known for rejecting the term ‘Ufologist’, arguing the field should not be so narrowly defined. His clashes with other figures in the field, such as journalist Leslie Kean, musician and researcher Tom DeLonge, and exopolitics specialist Dr. Michael Salla, highlight the diverse perspectives within the community.

Despite the controversies, Greer remains a significant figure in ufology. His announcement of the Deep Disclosure Event was an opportunity we couldn’t miss, considering his longstanding influence in the community.

The Promise of Deep Disclosure

Dr. Steven Greer has long tantalized the UFO community with mentions of a vast database of evidence, claiming it ranges from 8, 10 to even 15 terabytes. In a recent video, he announced plans to unveil this database, sometimes referencing its availability to the public, other times limiting it to government eyes. This led to the much-anticipated week-long event where he promised a walkthrough of this evidence with a select audience. The event, priced at $200 per virtual seat, attracted attention with its offering of 25 live spots and 1,000 online seats. Eager to witness these “incredible evidence” claims firsthand, I quickly secured my virtual attendance.

My Week with Dr. Greer’s Deep Disclosure: Expectations vs. Reality

Living in Europe, attending Dr. Greer’s sessions translated into some serious late-night commitments. The first session was slated for 1 am my time. Bracing for what I hoped would be a night of revelations, I adjusted my entire day’s routine, preparing to delve deep into the world of UFOs.

Live from the event

Opening Night: More of a History Lesson

The initial session on Monday didn’t quite deliver the explosive revelations I was anticipating. Dr. Greer devoted two hours to a thorough review of his Disclosure Project’s history, covering its highs and lows. Notably, he detailed alleged attempts by both government and non-government entities to silence a range of individuals, from high-profile politicians to ordinary citizens, using methods like blackmail and even threats. A striking moment was his mention of former President Bill Clinton, who apparently had been on board with the project before abruptly withdrawing his support. This dive into the past was delivered with emotional weight, especially as Dr. Greer reflected on the solitary struggle he and his wife have endured in this endeavor. However, candidly speaking, this session felt more like a historical overview than the groundbreaking disclosure I was geared up for.

Technical Hiccups and Recycled Content

Tuesday’s session began awkwardly, with 20 minutes of frustrating silence due to a muted stream. Despite our messages flooding the chat, it took a while for the team to catch on and fix the issue. Once the sound was back, the sessions essentially turned into a recitation of known events, supplemented with documents and videos. Greer, no doubt, is a compelling speaker, but for those of us who’ve been in the loop, it was a rehash of familiar tales. New revelations? Hardly any. This seemed more like an introduction to novices rather than an enlightening experience for the veterans among us.

AI Imagery: Creative but Unconvincing

The use of AI-generated images to illustrate certain events struck me as unnecessary. If we don’t have tangible proof, creating a visual narrative seems misleading. We need hard evidence, not digital art, to validate these claims.

Diminishing Participant Interest and Fundraising

Interest in the sessions visibly dwindled – the numbers dropped drastically as the days progressed, especially from Thursday until the last session on Saturday. From an initial 500+ zoom viewers per session to a mere 200. Dr. Greer’s repeated calls for funding and manpower became a bit too recurrent for my liking. It started to feel like a veiled request for financial support rather than an educational endeavor. I believe the reason for people dropping out was because they were seasoned UFO enthusiasts and, just like me, were expecting new things rather than extra details on old stories.

The Elusive Database and Future Promises

Throughout, Dr. Greer kept alluding to his massive database, yet we never really got the deep dive we were promised. Everything he presented was from that database and we could see a lot of folders and files yet everything that was presented to us were the same old stories. There’s talk of a forthcoming website to display all his findings, but until that materializes, it’s all just air.

Conclusion: Hopes vs. Deliverables

Dr. Greer’s belief that non-government entities are the real keepers of UFO secrets was a persistent theme. He emphasized the need to bring these shadowy players into the light. In one of the sessions, a map of the world was shown with pins in all the locations that a government or non-government entity that deals with the UFO phenomenon exists. In the coming days, I’ll be sharing more on what was discussed and show some event footage.
